School Philosophy
The Clifton Park Nursery School (CPNS) is a family-centered program. We are a cooperative organization in which our parents, children, and our teacher all work and play together to create a school environment that is supportive and enriching for all members.
School Curriculum
Learning through play is a central tenant of our curriculum. Our curriculum is a developmentally appropriate program that provides opportunities for each child to respond to his/her physical and social environment. We believe that young children learn from self-chosen and self-initiated play with stimulating and dynamic play materials. Read more on our curriculum.
Fundraising Information
Our school, like most schools, depends on fundraising monies to support our school activties. You have the option to partake in a fundraiser or pay the opt-out fee, which varies for each fundraiser. Commitment to Safety
Our school is absolutely committed to the safety of our students and staff. The schoolyard is completely fenced-in and the doors to the school house remain locked during school hours.
School Closings & Delays
Our school follows the Shenedehowa school district calendar for holidays, snow days and vacations. If there is a Shen 2 hour snow delay, class will delayed by 1 hour. If there is a Shen 1 hour delay, there is no delay to class.
Board Members
As a cooperative nursery school parents have the opportunity to participate in their child's first school experience. You can become more involved in the running/direction of the school by being elected to the Executive Board. Elections are held twice a year and board positions are shared.
